Preparing the Manuscript
Download the manuscript
template which provides the proper Journal format for your text, by
clicking here. Prepare
illustrations, tables and figures as
separate files; DO NOT EMBED them within the Microsoft Word©
document or Word Perfect© TEXT document file, and DO NOT EMBED
them in a separate Microsoft
Word © or Word Perfect © FIGURES
file. Embedded
figures make the host files very large (up to several megabytes);
it is much better to send the figues as separate .GIF, .JPG, .BMP,
.TIFF, .PSD, or .EPS files ,
which will be much smaller.
Please
note that no
manuscript can be published unless a signed
Transfer of Copyright form has been submitted.
You may
wish to
download the Transfer of Copyright form by clicking here
, print, sign
and date it, and scan it to a file
which you package or upload with your manuscript files.
Packaging the Manuscript
A
convenient method of packaging the text, illustration, table
and
figure files is to incorporate them into a .ZIP archive. This
method also compresses the files so that they may fit on a standard
floppy diskette, or can be more easily uploaded to the JOEM website.
Choose a filename without spaces for your .DOC or .ZIP file,
e.g., "MyArchive.zip" rather than
"My Archive.zip". If
you are not comfortable using .ZIP archives, ask your system
adminisrator for assistance.
Uploading the Manuscript
Do not attempt to send the archive
file
by E-mail !! The Editor's E-mailbox is set to reject messages
with large attachments!
You
may upload as many as 3 files at the same time by using
the
buttons below. For each file you wish to upload, click
"Browse...". A window will open, with which you can select
the
file to upload. Each file selected must be less than 3 MB in
size. Then click "Upload!" to send the files. After
the
files have finished uploading, you will
see a Web page which indicates a successful upload, and the Editor will
receive an E-mail notification.
